TOTO

Already a household name in Japan, China and the USA, Japan's leading manufacturer of sanitary ceramic products was still relatively unknown in Europe. To change this, TOTO turned to MACH Architecture. The first commission was to design an 800 m2 booth at the 2009 ISH, the Frankfurt trade fair for bathroom design. Two years later this was followed by a 1,300 m2 stand reflecting Japan's traditional garden design and bathing culture. The concept was so convincing that it subsequently won the Red Dot Design Award and the IF Award.

After successfully profiling the brand, MACH was tasked with designing TOTO's European presence, with a new showroom in London and a headquarters in Düsseldorf. In 2013, MACH was commissioned for the third time to design an exhibition stand for ISH Frankfurt. To present the products in a modern and scaled environment, MACH designed a conglomerate of four cubic buildings and a pavilion, which were inspired by urban infrastructures.
